For We Are Many | Writer's Review

Updated: Aug 3, 2020

For We Are Many is the direct sequel to We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor and the second volume in the Bobiverse series.

Its story picks up right after the conclusion of the last novel. The majority of this book is comprised of a continuation and further expansion on the plot-lines of Bob 1, Riker and Mario. New POV characters also get added to the story along with a new romance focused subplot.

In terms of style and storytelling the novel remains faithful to its predecessor. This is also reflected in the sub-genres, which for the most part stay unchanged from the last installment. World-building, drama and action still form the foundation on which the novel is built, although the action has been dialed back somewhat. Comedic, historic and philosophical elements continue to play a supporting role, although they are now joined by romance and suspense oriented sections.

Also if you're a fan of the Bobiverse series, you I suggest you check out the theories and speculation article I wrote about Heaven's River, the forth instalment to the Bobiverse series coming this fall.

While analyzing this novel writer's can apply all the same lessons which I covered in the previous review in this series. Along side those you can also find a great example of how to inject a completely new sub-genre halfway through a series and learn about the importance of humanizing larger than life characters, all of which I cover in grater detail in the video linked above.
